In honor of National Doctors’ Day (March 30), the Emory University School of Medicine Recognitions Committee asked faculty and staff to nominate doctors who demonstrate dedication to improving the health and well-being of our patients and community through the care they provide, the research they conduct, and/or their efforts to teach and inspire young doctors.
The Department of Medicine congratulates our Doctors’ Day nominees in the Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics and wishes to express our appreciation to all General Medicine and Geriatrics faculty for your dedication to our community. - “Dr. Brownfield demonstrates an immeasurable amount of dedication in promoting and ensuring patient, student, faculty, and staff well-being.”
- “Dr. Cranman is personable, concerned, and responsive.”
- “Dr. Fiedler cares about my personal well-being and is extremely responsive to her patients.”
- “Dr. Graves has strong communication skills and is very empathetic to the patient.”

- “Dr. Higdon is encouraging when medical issues are not quickly resolved.”
- “Dr. Lom is a dedicated teacher and has built curricula for students and residents alike. She was afforded a grant to teach residents about fall risk in the elderly and created a learning module used by the internal medicine residents to help improve care of their geriatric patients.”
- “Dr. Lom has a clinical and research focus on hepatitis C and getting patients access to care. Through her research and clinical effort on this subject, she has taught residents how to screen and link patients to care. During her time in hep C clinic, she provides patients with curative therapy for this disease.”
- “Dr. Lom is regarded as a wonderful teacher and an efficient ward attending by her learners.”
- “Dr. Jarrett shows exceptional bedside manner and is committed to patient wellness.”
- “Dr. Jarrett goes the extra mile to ensure the patient is well taken care of.”

- “Dr. Partin always responds to requests, emails, consults, etc.”
