The Department of Medicine is thrilled to introduce the incoming 2018-2019 J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency program interns. This rising class of 56 candidates will begin their residencies this July. They include 44 categorical track, two combined internal medicine/psychiatry track, eight in primary care, and two research track (one each in Cardiology and Infectious Diseases).
Match Day is the culmination of our annual recruitment season and celebrates a defining moment in these young physicians’ careers. This year, we received more than 5,700 applications for just over 500 interview spots, to recruit a class of 56 highly talented trainees. Our incoming class represents 34 medical schools from across the country, with three graduates from international medical schools, and nine candidates from Emory University School of Medicine.
