Workshop Helps Faculty Members Refresh Clinical Skills

The Department of Medicine’s Clinical Excellence Community recently hosted a comprehensive clinical skills refresher workshop for faculty members with a combination of didactic sessions and hands-on learning on a variety of topics. Dedicated to promoting quality care in the department, the Clinical Excellence Community provides networking, mentoring, practice management, skill-building and scholarship opportunities to our physicians.

Facilitated by Devon Carr, MD, sports medicine fellow at Emory Healthcare; Anh-thu Vu, MD, senior associate at the School of Medicine; Xiaoqin Alexa Lu, MD, assistant professor of Ophthalmology; Cindy Powell, MD, MPH, assistant professor at the Department of Medicine; Ranliang Hu, assistant professor at the School of Medicine; and Stacy Westerman, MD, cardiology fellow at the School of Medicine, attendees at the clinical skills refresher workshop were able to mix and match different sessions from the physical exam track and diagnostics track.

The interactive experience, hands-on practice, and group discussions were among the aspects that enjoyed the most by participating faculty members.
