Eva Rimler, MD, named IM Residency Program Primary Care Assistant Program Director

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce that Eva Rimler, MD, associate professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, has been named assistant program director for the Primary Care Track in the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program.

As the assistant program director, Rimler will work with the primary care program director to guide the administrative, clinical, and educational oversight for the primary care track residents. Together, they will provide leadership for program administration, innovative curricular planning, and program evaluation; ensure compliance with all ACGME and regulatory requirements; lead recruitment efforts; mentor residents; participate in graduate medical education scholarship; and work closely with the residency program director.

Rimler joined the Emory faculty in 2010 and has served as the director of the Adult Primary Care Clerkship Program in the School of Medicine since 2014. She has been a core faculty member for the internal medicine residency program and has participated in the residency coaching program. Rimler serves on the Society of General Internal Medicine’s (SGIM) education committee, and in 2019 she was chosen to be a faculty member for the SGIM’s Teaching Educators across the Continuum of Healthcare (TEACH) program that provides mentorship and faculty development for clinician educators across the country.

Rimler received her undergraduate degree in kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin and her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at Emory’s internal medicine residency program.

Please join us in congratulating Rimler on her new position. The residency leadership team looks forward to seeing how she uses her experience in graduate medical education to further advance the residency program’s primary care track.
