Call for nominations: 2017 Department of Medicine Staff Awards

We are now accepting nominations for Emory University Department of Medicine (DOM) Staff Awards for the 2016-2017 academic year. The Staff Award Program is being reintroduced to recognize DOM staff for their amazing contributions to their divisions; the Department of Medicine; and Emory, as a whole. Nomination deadline: Friday, May 19 at 5 p.m. EST

The award categories are as follows:

• DOM Leadership Excellence Award: This award recognizes a staff member for their exemplary leadership accomplishments and contributions to the Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, and Emory University. All regular full-time and part-time staff members who are in leadership roles (i.e. supervising others) or have taken on a leadership role within a specific project/initiative are eligible.

• DOM “Unsung Hero” Award: This award recognizes a staff member who goes above and beyond the routine call of duty. All regular full-time and part-time staff members are eligible.

• DOM Excellence in Innovation Award: This award recognizes a staff member or team (two staff members or more) who/that has displayed exceptional work and/or produced significant innovations for the Department of Medicine. All regular full-time and part-time staff members are eligible.

• DOM Outstanding Service Award: This award recognizes a staff member who provides consistent and sustained excellence, exceptional performance, and service to their division, the Department of Medicine, and the Emory community. All regular full-time and part-time staff members who have been employed by the university for at least five (5) years are eligible.

Awards include a monetary gift and an inscription on a commemorative plaque, which will be awarded at Celebratory Medical Grand Rounds on Tuesday, June 27.
