Tracey Henry, MD selected for UNLTD fellowship from the Society of General Internal Medicine

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce that Tracey Henry, MD, assistant professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, has been selected for the Unified Leadership Training in Diversity Program (UNLTD) fellowship from the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM).

UNLTD is designed for junior and mid-career faculty from underrepresented groups to develop the complex skill sets required to successfully lead academic sections and departments. The program provides mentoring, a scholarship to attend the ACLGIM leadership conference, and some financial assistance to offset expenses.

“This career development opportunity is a wonderful chance for me to hone in and sharpen my leadership skills through mentorship from top GI and faculty leaders, and from targeted leadership training through a formal curriculum,” Henry said during her acceptance speech. “I have always had a dream of becoming a physician and giving back to my community and patients — and sowing seeds of clinical excellence and cultural humility in the next generation of physician leaders and advocates. As I strive to become an effective leader in my mission driven work, I will be posed to build vital skill sets, engage in collaborative problem solving, and gain practical tools to achieve greater impact in academic medicine and in our profession in general. I look forward to engaging with other forward thinking rising leaders from across the country, and I’m excited and confident that through the unlimited program I will be well equipped to be successful in any leadership endeavor.”
