Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am from Nashville, attended the University of Pennsylvania for undergrad, and attended the University of Tennessee for medical school. I’m currently on the infectious diseases service at Grady!
Why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?
I wanted to have a career that combined my people skills, my desire to understand patients’ stories, critical thinking and problem solving, and my purpose to help people and address health inequities.
How have your first few months of residency been?
Incredible! I have learned so much and grown exponentially in such a short time, thanks in huge part to the amazing senior residents, fellows, and attendings here. It’s hard work, but it’s been fun to go through it with the best co-interns anyone could ask for, both in and out of the hospital.
What are you most looking forward to during your time at Emory?
Developing my clinical skills and feeling increasingly confident in my medical decision-making, and deepening my friendships with so many people in the program and the city.
What is your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
The food, the greenery, and the overall vibe of the city! Between restaurants, running trails, the botanical garden, and Atlanta United games – my list of favorite things keeps on growing!
Can you share a fun fact?
I’ve traveled to seven national parks this year – Great Smoky Mountains, Rocky Mountains, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Glacier, and Mt. Ranier!
