Welcome our new Geriatrics faculty

The Emory Section of Geriatrics and Gerontology is excited to introduce new faculty members. Meet the newest members of our team:

Sivan Ben-Moshe, MD is an assistant professor of medicine (Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics). She practices at Emory’s Geriatrics Outpatient Clinic and serves as an attending with the palliative medicine in-patient consultation service. Dr. Ben-Moshe received a bachelor’s of science from Emory University in 2006 and an MD from Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University in 2010. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in New York in 2013. She completed an integrated fellowship in geriatric and palliative medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York in 2015. Her areas of clinical interest include treating patients with multi-morbidity and assessing hospice admission criteria for the debilitated geriatrics population. She has also developed a geriatrics curriculum and enjoys teaching geriatrics concepts and communication skills to trainees.

Dialyn de L. Soto Barreto, MD is an assistant professor of medicine (Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics). She practices at The Emory Clinic General Internal Medicine Perimeter practice at 1821 Clifton Road. Dr. Soto received an MD from the University of Puerto Rico in 2008 and completed her general internal medicine traditional residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York in 2011. She also completed a geriatrics fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in New York in 2012. From 2012-2014, Dr. Soto served as the director of geriatric in-patient services at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.

Stephanie Garrett, MD, FACP is an assistant professor of medicine (Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics). She practices at Academic Internal Medicine Partners of Gwinnett Medical Center. Dr. Garrett completed her MD at Wright State University School of Medicine in 1998, her residency in categorical internal medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in 2001, and a fellowship in geriatrics at University of Chicago Hospitals in 2003. She was a Research Scholar at the National Center for Primary Care at Morehouse School of Medicine and a Scholar in the Health Disparities Research Training Program at the Deep South Resource Center for Minority Aging Research. Her research focuses on dementia diagnosis and management and health disparities in minority elders.

 

Antonio Graham, DO is a geriatrician at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Dr. Graham earned a master’s degree in neurobiology and physiology from Purdue University in 2004 and a doctorate in osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile from 2011-2014. He completed a fellowship in geriatrics and gerontology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2016. His research interests include memory and cognitive deficits and dementia, delirium, and depression.

 

 

Hyung Seok (Daniel) Oh, MD is an assistant professor of medicine (Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics). He completed his MD at American University of the Caribbean, Netherland Antilles (St. Maarten) in 2011. Dr. Oh completed his residency in family medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine in 2015 and a fellowship in geriatrics at Emory University School of Medicine in 2016. Dr. Oh’s primary clinical/scholarly focus is geriatrics and quality care, particularly at the sub-acute nursing-home level.

 

 

Ramla Sharif, MD is an assistant professor of medicine (Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics) and the associate medical director of the Budd Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Sharif earned an MBBS from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan in 2000. She completed her family medicine residency at the Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia in 2013. The final phase of her graduate training was a fellowship in geriatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine from 2013-2014. Dr. Sharif’s research includes designing a step-by-step guidance tool for osteoporosis diagnosis and management in men and immobile patients. Her areas of expertise include rehabilitative medicine, hospice referral, and caring for patients in assisted living.

 

Gil Diaz Vega, MD is an assistant professor of medicine (Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics) and a geriatrician at the Atlanta VA Medical Center’s Outpatient Geriatrics Clinic. Dr. Diaz Vega earned his MD from Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamón, Puerto Rico in 2012. He completed his residencies in internal medicine and geriatrics at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Science Campus in Río Piedras in 2016. He specializes in geriatrics syndromes such as urinary incontinence, dementia, falls, dizziness, osteoporosis, frailty, hearing and vision loss, sleep issues, and delirium.
